Pastor Andrew TessoneOriginally from Southern Illinois, Pastor Tessone attended SIU-Carbondale and received an accounting degree before entering Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, to begin his pastoral formation. He received his M.Div. and first Call here to Our Savior in 2011. Pastor Tessone is the Chair of the Marriage and Family Conference, held annually in Cole Camp, as well as the LWML Sedalia Zone pastoral advisor. He has also been featured on the Go the Distance radio program periodically. Pastor and his family enjoy cheering on the Atlanta Braves and playing board games in his free time.
The Board of Elders shall assist the pastor in the ministry of Christ in developing and promoting the congregation’s spiritual growth and concern itself with the spiritual, emotional, and physical health and welfare of the Pastor and his family.
The board of Education shall support and strengthen the Christian home and help equip parents, youth, and children for Christian Family living. It shall also be responsible for and supervise the Christian Education of all members of all age levels in the congregation, including all agencies and auxiliaries of Christian Education.
The board of Finance shall keep and preserve accurate records of all receipts and disbursements, be responsible for depositing all congregation money in a federally insured bank, pay all regular and fixed expenses, and report income in relation to the budget.
The board of Trustees shall care for the congregation’s property as a sacred, legal, and equitable trust, ensure it is kept in good repair and appearance, and recommend repairs and improvements.
The Church Council shall listen to the congregation’s needs and recommend action by the various Boards to meet those needs. It shall also oversee and mediate the activity of the boards and congregation and present plans for the development and expansion of Christ’s work in our midst.
Ushers: We have groups of volunteers who take turns assisting the Elders on Sundays in handing out bulletins, showing attendees to their seats and dismissing them after the service, setting up the communion rail, and directing the confirmed to take communion.
Audio Booth: We have volunteers responsible for the sound and recording of the church services.
Acolyte: Our youth who attend confirmation classes are given the opportunity to assist in the ceremonial duty of lighting our Altar candles.
Altar Guild: Ladies of Our Savior volunteer to serve the Lord, Church, and congregation by preparing the Church Altar for all Sundays and special services.
Organist: Debbie Mueller serves in playing the organ for our church services so that we may “sing and make music from our hearts to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5: 19-20
